Going back to school is bittersweet. On one hand, it’s exciting to see all your friends that you haven’t seen in a while, go to all your new classes (aka see who’s in them), & finally have something to do everyday. On the OTHER hand, it’s school. You’ll have homework to do, tests to study for, & sleeping in until 11 a.m. everyday will no longer be a thing.
Whether your dying to go back or dreading it, you have to go, SO you might as well do it in style – am I right or am I right? To give you some tips, I raided the Nordstrom at the Montclair Place & came up with two back-to-school styles – one chic & one casual.
For my first ensemble, I put together 4 incredibly cute yet incredibly affordable pieces. From bottom to top, I’m wearing a pair of Lush striped woven shorts, a BP mock neck crop tank (that’s only $4!!!), a suede choker, topped off with a faux black leather backpack.
When shopping for school, I highly recommend purchasing staple pieces like the crop tank, choker, & backpack because you can wear the heck out of them ALL YEAR ROUND!! The crop tank is long enough to tuck into high-waisted shorts, high-waisted jeans, or a high-waisted skirt – making it the perfect item for any season. Accessorize it up with different scarves or sweaters & it will look like a new shirt each time.
Also, this primarily white outfit will show off your summer tan that you (admittedly or not) have been working on all summer AND it will keep you cool during those class-to-class periods.
For my more casual look, I paired up my favorite Levi cut offs with this adorable Sun & Shadow lace up tee & accessorized with my (new favorite) faux leather reversible tote!
Much like the items in the previous outfit, this tee is the perfect buy for back-to-school because, when styled correctly, it can be worn during any season. Pair it with some ripped jeans and knee-high boots for fall, a chunky scarf & leather jacket for the winter, floral shorts for the spring, & voila!
So there you have it folks – even though you have to go back to school, at least you can do it in style. Tag me in your first day of school outfit pics so I can be inspired too!
XO – good luck & happy shopping!
