Halloween. The best of times and the worst of times.
The best part of Halloween: eating lots of free candy, hanging out with your friends, and dressing up as something totally unique. The worst part of Halloween: dressing up as something totally unique.
Even though the night is filled with fun times, there’s a lot of pressure that comes with picking out the perfect costume. AND the worst part is you usually spend hours and (way too many) dollars running around at the last minute trying to pick out the perfect pieces that you’ll never even wear again.
But HAVE NO FEAR. I’m here to help.
The DIY feed on Pinterest had me feeling all inspired so, of course, I went and raided the Forever 21 at the Montclair Place. After trying on about 20 pieces, I came up with two perfectly unique costumes for you & your friends! AND THE BEST PART? They’re made up of items you can wear ALL YEAR LONG.
So here they are folks:
Look #1: Emoji Dancers
We’ve all used them to add a little but of spice to our texts, so why not dress like them and add some spice to your Halloween?!
If you want dress up with a friend & don’t want to break the bank, this costume is calling your name. The whole thing’s made up of only 3 pieces! 3 pieces!!!
All you need is a black leotard/bodysuit, black booties, top it off with a black bow & wallah! Pure magic.
Not only will everyone be jealous of your costume and wonder why they didn’t think of it themselves, BUT you will also be able to rock these pieces all year long!
Black bodysuits go perfectly under shorts, pants, and skirts. So basically everything in your closet. And, black booties are essential for the fall/winter anyways SO you might as well get them now and rock them on Halloween.

Look #2: (The not so scary) Scarecrow
Okay, when you first think scarecrow, you probably don’t think of the cute, fun, flirty costumes you had in mind – BUT YOU’RE SO WRONG.
I’ll tell you why.
Overalls and off-the-shoulder tops have been super trendy over past few months. I have plenty off-the-shoulder tees (I’m slightly obsessed and probably need to cut myself off), but I hadn’t gotten any overalls yet. SO I finally gave myself an excuse to get some!
I combined these two staple pieces with a straw hat, knee high boots, some extra makeup and became a scarecrow. Simple as that.
As you can see, I added some extra blush and used liquid eyeliner to draw stitches coming from the sides of my lips and my nose.
Then, after Halloween’s over, all you have to do is ditch the “stitches” makeup and you’ll still be looking as cute as ever.
