PICTURE PERFECT

Hey babes! Today has been a very happy day for me because I got a NEW CAMERA! And not some rinky-dink little thing – an extremely nice, professional, shiny, beautiful camera and I’m so so excited about it!

I’ve been wanting to invest in a nice camera for quite some time because – let’s be real – what’s a blog without high quality pictures to go with it?! Plus, I have some exciting trips coming up (stay tuned!!!) and I have to document my adventures!

Sadly, there was one tiny problem with my big dream: that cash money. The phrase “broke college student” has been so relevant that I’ve found myself repeating the Bridesmaids quote, “help me, I’m poor,” more often than I thought possible.

BUT, as many of you may know, I graduated college last month – WOOHOO! And with college graduation (before all the loans), comes graduation cards filled with just what I needed – money!

So, I saved up all the generous cash, checks, and cards and finally had enough to buy this little sucker! And I’ll tell ya – it wasn’t cheap. BUT, after weeks of searching, I found the best deal that I just couldn’t pass up.

Now, before I went searching, I had to decide which camera, out of the millions out there, was the one for me. But, I’m so lucky that my tech-savvy, amazing friend Kristen (who has taken TONS of the pictures featured throughout the blog) helped me decide. She recommended getting a Canon T6i with a 70mm lens; which, for all you camera newbies like me, translates to a great starter camera with a professional lens that’s perfect for vlogs and insta-worty pics! What could be better?!

So I started by looking online at places like Best Buy and Canon, but the price just for just the camera and the lens alone was over $900! AKA enough to make my wallet cringe and my bank account cry. Plus, I would still have to buy a strap, bag, tripod, etc.

Then, my mom recommended checking out Walmart. I don’t know about you, but when I think of a high-quality camera purchase, Walmart isn’t at the top of my list. BUT I WAS SO WRONG.

Almost immediately, I found exactly what I had been searching for – plus so much more! They had a bundle including the camera, four different lens’, a 64GB chip, an extra flash, tripod, strap, bag, cleaning supplies, etc. – a $1,650 value for only $850!!

I know, I know, I sound like an informercial right now but the deal was so great I can’t help it. If you’re on the hunt to get in touch with your artsy side, don’t over pay and make sure you hunt down amazing deals like this one!

SO, now that I have this camera that I will probably treat like a small child, let me know what you want me to blog about next! Specific clothes, makeup, DIY’s, places to see, or anything your pretty little heart desires – let ya girl know and I’ll make it happen.

Thanks for reading babes!! XO
