Happy Monday, babes! There’s only 8 short days until Halloween which means fall is in full force, even if it was 97 degrees today (shout out to all of my SoCal pals who understand what I’m talking about).
I don’t know if it’s because fall is my favorite season or the fact that yellows, grays, oranges and tans are some of my favorite colors to wear, but every year when fall rolls around, I go a little ham with the shopping. And by a little I mean A LOT.
In all of my shopping ventures, I’ve been noticing some trends in the clothes that somehow always end up in my cart or my “closet” board on Pinterest – two of which are sweater dresses and over-the-knee boots.
I don’t know what it is, but whenever it’s cold I always get the urge to wear a dress. It doesn’t make sense, I know – but a lot of things don’t make sense and I still have the urge to do them. Like I want to be skinny yet I let myself indulge in donuts all the time – why? I don’t know but I love it. It’s the same thing with dresses in the fall.
But instead of buying normal dresses, I at least make myself buy sweater dresses to help justify my purchases a little bit – ya feel me?
So this fall, I’ve found one that I absolutely LOVE from this boutique called Gentle Fawn. It’s light gray, so incredibly soft and hits the perfect spot on my thighs where it’s not too short yet not too long (I’m wearing a size small here).
And if Gentle Fawn is a little too pricy for you, I also found some less expensive sweater dresses from that I love from this online store called Tobi.
One thing I really like about Tobi is that their prices seem high, but they ALWAYS – and I really mean always – have 50% off sales. I’m not joking people, sign up for their emails and you will constantly have 50% off codes in your inbox. It’s a little dangerous but a little thrilling at the same time. So you can shop my favorite sweater dresses from that store here, here and here.
Now, let’s talk shoes. I LOVE over-the-knee boots. if you haven’t tried any on yet, do yourself a favor and head over to your local Nordstrom Rack to just try some on – they work WONDERS, people.
Trust me when I say that they make your legs look 3 times longer and thinner than they actually are. You put them on and instantly feel like Kendall Jenner with legs as long as the Eiffel Tower. It’s amazing.
BUT – there’s one downfall. When I first bought a pair, which is the pair I’m wearing here, I took the cheaper route and just bought some from the Reflections store down the street – not really sure how I felt about the style yet.
Because I bought some lower quality ones, they constantly slouch down and end up around my mid-calf area instead of staying above the knees. I’ll tie the ties as tight as I possibly can and they STILL end up sliding down. It’s a tiny bit heartbreaking if I’m being honest.
With all that said, if you’re interested in sporting the above-the-knee look, I would recommend committing to the trend and buying a higher quality pair from somewhere like Nordstrom Rack. A few nice yet not too expensive pairs that I really like (and just might buy after I post this blog) are here, here and here.
I hope you guys enjoyed this post and found it helpful! Let me know what your favorite fall trends are in the comments below and don’t forget to subscribe so that you never miss a blog – Have an amazing week friends! XO
