9 “And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.10 For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.
11 “You fathers—if your children ask for a fish, do you give them a snake instead?12 Or if they ask for an egg, do you give them a scorpion? Of course not! 13 So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him.” Luke 11: 9-13
It can be so easy to forget to pray. To go through your day trying to take charge and get everything done without asking for help – whether that be from people or from God. But today I’d like to encourage you to stop, take a moment and PRAY about TODAY.
Pray about what you need from Him. Ask in faith and with shameless persistence. Believe that He will give you what you need. And if those prayers don’t come into fruition today, KEEP praying. Pray tomorrow, the next day and the next. BELIEVE that God wants to give us the desires of our hearts.
And through all of this, remember not to box God into our “worldly perspective.” Us praying for a promotion at work might seem like the best thing that could ever happen to us right now, but in God’s view, He might not only want to give you a promotion to manager, but He might want to make you the CEO of your own company that changes lives across the world – you see what I’m saying?
So pray and truly humble yourself to believe that Gods will is best. His plan for your life could be something totally unexpected, but pray and praise Him in advance for what He will do in and through you because you know he is so, so good.
I don’t know what you need today, but we all need something. So let’s pray together in faith and with shameless persistence. Let’s believe that God HEARS us and He WANTS to bless us. “For the Lord will again delight in being good to you,” says Deuteronomy 30:9. “May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed,” says Psalm 20:4.

Sometimes I think why would God care for my needs when others around the world need so much…but thanks for this post because God is big enough to take care of everyone’s needs! God always hears our prayers – it may or may not answer the way we understand or want, but communicating with God is all he asks.
Love this so much!!! This makes me think of the song Do It Again by Elevation Worship when they say “Walking around these walls, I thought by now they’d fall. But you have never failed me yet.” There have been a couple big things in my life that I was praying for them to happen for YEARS, and God answered both of those prayers this year It was emotionally & mentally painful waiting for so long, but it just made me lean on Him for strength and made my faith in Him stronger. He had a plan and it has turned out to be SO SO GOOD!!!

Back in high school, there was a lot I wanted, so I kept asking to receive these things. I don’t remember how long it was and it took me a while to realize, but I finally recieved an answer. God didn’t give me what I wanted, He gave me what I needed.
