Your Guide to an At-Home Memorial Day Weekend

Your Guide to an At-Home Memorial Day Weekend

Thank you to Australian Gold for sponsoring this blog post! As always, all opinions are my own.

Hey babes! With Memorial Day right around the corner, I know everyone’s going to be spending the weekend in the sun, lounging by the pool and soaking up some Vitamin D (at least that’s what I’m going to be doing!). So, I thought I’d put together a little blog post featuring my essential products for an at-home celebration.

But before I get into that, I wanted to share with you my favorite sunscreen (for both body and face) because a weekend of sun without proper protection can lead to damage, wrinkles and unwanted health issues. But the good news is, sunscreen brands like Australian Gold have come to develop such amazing products that protect our skin while using natural ingredients and without making you feel greasy. So here’s the rundown:

THE BEST SUNSCREEN:  My go-to for sunscreen is always Australian Gold – specifically their Botanical collection. Each bottle is made with three powerhouse Australian botanicals: Kakadu Plum (a native Australian fruit with vitamin C, antioxidants, and collagen), Eucalyptus (to calm, rejuvenate and oxygenate skin), and Red Algae (containing Vitamin A, Niacin, Iodine, Iron, Folic Acid and three Amino Acids).

Whether I’m using their spray, lotion or tinted face sunscreen, it’s never greasy, always leaves my skin clear, and prevents any burns and/or sun damage. Honestly, this stuff is so good that I use it year round. Even when it’s not hot out, I don’t want the rays damaging my skin so I use it under my makeup! And during the summer, the tinted face sunscreen adds the perfect amount of color/coverage so I can get away without any makeup at all. My dermatologist says it makes a world of difference. I’ll be thanking myself when I’m in my 50’s!

So go ahead and stock up for not only Memorial Day weekend, but the whole year!

SO, now that we have our skin protection settled, let’s get into it. With everything that has gone on so far in 2020, we deserve a little weekend to remember and celebrate those who have fought for our country, am I right?! Plus, if there’s one thing we’ve learned so far this year it’s that we can make home fun  (and we learned to wash your hands, but that’s for a different blog post).

SO, if you’re deciding to have a Memorial Day party at home, here are some essentials:

  1. A CUTE BIKINI: 110% an essential. Why? Because look good, feel good. This cute tie-dye, high waisted number is from Skatie and linked here!
  2. YOUR FAVORITE SPRITZ: For me, there’s nothing like a good watermelon kombucha in a fancy glass. You can give it a little spike if you’d like as well!
  3. THE BEST SUNSCREEN: This weekend is about having fun in the sun, not letting it damage your skin. My go-to for sunscreen is always Australian Gold – specifically their Botanical collection. My dermatologist says it makes a world of difference. I’ll be thanking myself when I’m in my 50’s!
  4. A GOOD BOOK: I’ve been absolutely loving this book Emotionally Healthy Spirituality by Peter Scazzero. It dives deep into the ‘why’ behind your relationship with God (and with others) and is seriously a game changer! 12/10 recommend!
  5. A CUTE CHAIR: Cause what makes your Memorial Day IG pic better than a grammable chair?? This one is from Amazon – linking it here!
  6. AN EVEN CUTER HAT: This Lack of Color beauty is my go-to summer look. It can be 50 degrees on and you slap this baby on and all of a sudden you feel like you’re at the beach. My favorite investment!

And those are my essentials! What are your must-haves for a summer weekend at-home? Let me know in the comments! xx
